Studies on fluorination of Fe3O4 (magnetite) by NH4HF2
نویسندگان
چکیده
Fluorination of magnetite (Fe3O4) by NH4HF2 was investigated using simultaneous thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), observing the morphology phase changes scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) diffractometry (XRD). The results indicate that fluorination involvement oxygen begins at room temperature, peaks 1784ºC, is completed 200ºC formation only (NH4)3FeF6. On heating, (NH4)3FeF6 gradually releases NH4F NH4FeF4 259ºC, then (NH4)0.l8FeF3 327ºC, finally FeF3 minor FeF2 400ºC due to partial reduction Fe (III) (II). At 550ºC, oxidized FeOF/Fe2O3.

Investigation of magnetite Fe3O4 nanoparticles for magnetic hyperthermia
The paper presents the investigation of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) dedicated to hyperthermia application. The crystal structure and size distributions have been determined by means of transmission electron microscope (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Magnetic properties of the nanoparticles were tested by Mössbauer spectroscopy together with calorimetric experiments. The Mössbauer spectrosc...
متن کاملModelling Magnetite Biomineralisation: The Interactions of Proteins and Fe3O4 Surfaces
The biosynthesis of magnetite is the earliest known example of biomineralisation; however, much of the detailed atomistic mechanisms by which the process occurs are unknown. Within the bacterial strain Magnetospirillum magneticum AMB-1, the formation of magnetite nanoparticles is thought to occur under the influence of the Mms6 protein. The C–terminal of this protein is highly acidic, containin...
متن کاملMagnetite Fe3O4 Nanocrystals: Spectroscopic Observation of Aqueous Oxidation Kinetics†
Low-temperature oxidation of aqueous magnetite nanoparticles to maghemite has been monitored via the loss of near-IR optical absorbance. The kinetics closely follows the diffusion in a sphere model as suggested by previous literature reports. The temperature dependence of the diffusion constant is described by an Arrhenius equation with an activation energy of 21.0 kcal/mol. No intermediate opt...
متن کاملA new precursor for preparation of magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles
An anionic Fe(II) complex, (BMIM)4[Fe(CN)6] (where BMIM is 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium), was synthesized in ionic liquid [BMIM][PF6] under reflux condition. The complex was characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic methods. The magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles were prepared by the hydrothermal and solvothermal (in ionic liquid [BMIM][PF6]) methods from (BMIM)4[Fe(CN)6] as a precursor...
